Baking the chicken perfectly cooks the drumsticks. Adding the sauce adds a sticky barbecue flavor.
Oven Barbecue Chicken Drumsticks
Ingredients
6 chicken drumsticks
1/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons dry mustard
2 teaspoons chili powder, or to taste
1 cup barbecue sauce
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a 7x11-inch baking dish with aluminum foil. Place drumsticks in dish.
Whisk ketchup, vinegar, water, brown sugar, butter, salt, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and chili powder t in a bowl. Pour mixture over chicken. Cover with more aluminum foil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, turning chicken about halfway through. Turn on broiler. Bast chicken with barbecue sauce and broil for 2 to 3 minutes. Turn over and baste again. Broil for another 2 to 3 minutes until the barbecue sauce is caramelized.
