Double Crunch Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts
Ingredients
For the chicken:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded thin
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
Oil for frying
For the honey garlic sauce:
1/2 cup honey
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon vinegar
Directions
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. Dip each chicken breast into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture and back into the flour mixture again.
Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
In a saucepan, combine honey, garlic, soy sauce and vinegar. Bring to a simmer. Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the sauce. Cook until thickened, about 1–2 minutes. Toss fried chicken in the honey garlic sauce or drizzle it over the top. Serve with rice.
